Ulster GAA’s Club Engagement programme was delivered recently in the Tir na nÓg GAA club in Portadown.
The Community Relations Council supports the organisation through its Core Funding Scheme.
Young people aged 14-18 years availed of key workshops focusing on community safety.
Over a 4-week period external organisations delivered thought provoking sessions on topics such as One Punch Can Kill, CPR (British Heart Foundation), Road Safety (NIFRS), Consent (White Ribbon), and Gambling Awareness (Gambling with Lives).
All these topics are current and help address the T:BUC strategy of a Safe Community as young people are now more knowledgeable and can be key ambassadors for their local community.
The young people were very engaging throughout the programme and feedback from facilitators, mentors and the participants was very positive.
