Voluntary Community and Social Economy Futures : Future of the Sector

In October 2016, with support from the Big Lottery Fund, Building Change Trust began the VCSE Futures project. Its purpose was to examine the issues facing the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in Northern Ireland and to start identifying the actions to be taken by the sector, its funders and relevant policy makers; to build an enabling environment to support the sector achieve the best outcomes for the people and places it works with.

At our Future of the Sector conference BCT will launch “Agenda for change and development in the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise sector in Northern Ireland” followed by a key note input from Charles Leadbeater, leading thinker on innovation and creativity. (Read his essay written for NPC last year, on how the social sector offers a means to a better future

The Agenda for Change identifies 7 key areas; Voluntary action, Civic Activism, Collaboration, Innovation, A focus on outcomes, Resilience and renewal, Leadership, that BCT believes need to be a focus for activity, development, resourcing and support by the sector, its funders and policy makers if the sector is to fully realise the role of the sector in contributing to a better society here.

You will have the opportunity to consider these ideas for future actions, hear from thought leaders in these key areas and consider along with others how the future actions required can be implemented.

Registration is through EventBrite (See the link below) and a detailed agenda and further information will follow.
