On Thursday 20th September, the eve of International Day of Peace, there will be a cross community service of reflection which will last approximately four hours to recall the enormous cost of conflict in Northern Ireland. The names of all those who died will be read solemnly, alphabetically and without any comment as a powerful illustration of the terrible suffering caused by death in conflict.
The names will be read as they are listed in the book Lost Lives ( Lost Lives: The Stories of the Men, Women and Children Who Died as a Result of the Northern Ireland Troubles. By David McKittrick, Seamus Kelters, Brian Feeney and Chris Thornton)
The service will occasionally be interspersed by prayer or music. It will begin at 8pm and will end shortly after midnight on International Day of Peace. Everyone welcome. The service will take place in All Souls’ Church, Elmwood Avenue, Belfast
