The Thirty Project - Holywell Trust

A montage of different people | NICRC

Holywell Trust, a Community Relations Council core funded group, is recruiting for its new Thirty Project. This mini-citizens’ assembly project is designed to increase the civic voice on some of the challenging issues facing society – increasing civic voice, examining the education system and legacy issues.

Recruitment for the project is now underway that will see the delivery of four mini-citizens’ assemblies delivered, three in the North West and one in Belfast.

If you are interested in taking part, then Holywell Trust would love to hear from you.

Registration details are below and more information on the project can be found at https://www.holywelltrust.com/thirty

Programme Recruitment

From 5 December 2022, Holywell Trust will be recruiting participants for their citizens’ assembly workshops. As they are likely to be oversubscribed, Holywell is asking people to apply online – a panel will select the final participants to ensure balanced representation. All participants must be over 18.

Potential Candidates

Holywell is seeking people with an interest in the topic being discussed and in moving this place forward on some of our more challenging issues. Participants must be able to take part in the full programme (2 workshops and residential).

Process - for each of the issues Holywell will:

  • Hold an induction workshop where participants will start to get to know one another, receive information on the upcoming residential and a preparation pack.
  • Each participant will be expected to prepare for the residential by reading the information contained in the pack. This will include policy documents relevant to the theme being discussed.
  • Facilitate a residential for the thirty participants where they will hear expert input on the topic being discussed and have the chance to formulate solutions and recommendations on the themes. These will be agreed or voted on by all thirty participants.
  • Holywell will also hold an influencing workshop to share the solutions and recommendations made by the participants with key stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Holywell will capture this process through video and podcast conversations which will be widely distributed upon conclusion of the project.
