Council Launches its Good Relations & Cultural Identity Grant 2018

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is now inviting applications for its ‘Good Relations & Cultural Identity’ grant scheme, which will provide funding for community relations and cultural diversity projects.

The closing date for applications is Friday 27th July at 12 noon for the opportunity to receive up to £2,000 of grant aid for projects that meet the objectives of the scheme.

The aim of the scheme is to promote good relations between people of different religious and political beliefs and the different racial groups within the whole council area.

Alderman Paul Porter, Chairman of the Council’s Leisure & Community Development Committee speaking about this grant, said: “I am delighted to announce the return of the Council’s Good Relations & Cultural Identity grant. This scheme is open to all community groups and other organisations involved in reconciliation and cultural diversity.

“The Council understands that those who apply for these grants are reliant on the funding support to develop and implement a programme of events and activities to address good relations issues with the local area.  It is through the hard work of such organisations and the Council’s Community Services Unit that we can continue to work together to strengthen and further develop the Lisburn Castlereagh community by building effective relationships,” concluded Alderman Porter.

Applications are welcomed under any or all of the following themes based on the ‘Together: Building a United Community’ Strategy:

  • Our Children and Young People
