Launch event for ‘Belfast and the World: 1918–1921 – Marking a Decade of Anniversaries’

Corrymeela are pleased to hold this special event to launch the project ‘Belfast and the World: 1918–1921 –Marking a Decade of Anniversaries’. The project is being delivered by Corrymeela on behalf of Belfast City Council as part of their PEACE IV Plan, which is funded by the European Union and managed by the Special EU Programmes Body.

The project will deliver a range of community engagement activities to mark significant centenaries over the period 2018‐2021. Those participating will be able to share their experiences of the past, explore and reflect on events that have shaped our present and develop a greater understanding of Belfast’s diverse cultural heritage.

The launch event will feature project information and a keynote address from the Rev. Dr. Johnston McMaster on the theme of ‘The challenges of ethically remembering 1918–1921’.
