Event date(s): -
Several women sitting together | CRC NI

MACHA are producing a double bill of 1-act plays entitled Body Politics.

The plays have been created directly from women's lived experiences and reflect issues of bodily autonomy from youth to old age, and women's experiences of bodily autonomy throughout the Troubles and in this current post conflict society.

Participants in the ongoing workshops are made up of women from new and established communities throughout Belfast and women activists.

MACHA has been working with women's group based at Forthspring, Skainos and QUB. Writings and performance (four 1-minute films) will be Exhibited at The MAC throughout the run of the plays. There will be post-show debates following each performance around the themes raised in the workshops.

Body Politics is part of IMAGINE Belfast Festival of Idea and Politics.
