The T:BUC Engagement Forum took place as a real-world event for the first time in over two years, and was featured during Good Relations Week 2022.

Over 50 enthusiastic participants – and many more online – attended the T:BUC Engagement Forum themed “Delivering T:BUC and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.”

The event was held on Tuesday 20 September 2022 and was organised by the Community Relations Council (CRC) on behalf of The Executive Office (TEO).

The Forum focused on the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the work that many peacebuilders are doing to help address pressing environmental concerns in Northern Ireland.

Important opportunity

The T:BUC Engagement Forum is an important opportunity to hear from people and organisations involved in the delivery of the T:BUC (Together: Building a United Community) strategy.

The keynote speaker was David Donoghue. David co-authored the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and he provided incredible insight into how the SDGs were created, and how they can help inform and compliment peacebuilding throughout the region.

Case studies and talks were also delivered by the following inspirational speakers:

  • NI Environment Link – Craig McGuicken
  • Forth Meadow Greenway – Dermot McGann
  • St. Columb’s Park House – Becca Bor
  • T:BUC Trees – Gavin King.

There was also a special performance by Rwanda Shaw with a song entitled “Change Starts With Us.
