Community Arts Partnership (CAP) facilitators Carole Kane and Charmaine McMeekin led a fascinating Expressive arts workshop as part of the Belfast International Arts Festival 2023. The workshop was entitled, Breathe: Interactive Artmaking and Peacebuilding.
The Community Relations Council supported the project through its CR/CD Small Grants Scheme.
The workshop took place on 1 November 2023 with attendees and participants from Forthspring Inter-community Group.
The EXA workshop was delivered in support of peacebuilding and conflict transformation through creativity, discovery and playfulness and builds on a project that is currently taking place, called Breathe.
Participants in the room were honoured to have been joined by international peacebuilder Professor John Paul Lederach who read and discussed aspects of his writing in relation to the ongoing project. They were also joined online by others from across Europe and North America.
This event was supported by Community Relations Council Small Grants scheme. The workshops are continuing and are supported by Belfast City Council. Arts Council of Northern Ireland is also an appreciated funder to CAP.
