Aims and Objectives

To develop mediative activity in support of evolving relations.

We act according to our core values:

·        Non-violence - serving truth, compassion and human dignity

·        Integrity - maintaining our independence, impartiality and trustworthiness.

·        Justice - building ‘right relationships’.

·        Respect - recognising peoples’ basic goodness, capacity for self-expression and potential good-will.

 

Projects and Activities

Our core activities include:

To deliver quality mediation and training services.

To build strategic mediative capacity in organisations and sectors.

To provide opportunities for reflective and relational leadership.

To consolidate the organisation’s professional and business-like approach.

Areas of work:

Social Partnership Programme:advancing community cohesion by using mediation to strengthen social partnerships 

Justice & Community: assisting the evolution of policing and justice as a shared endeavour between those servicing the civil & criminal justice sector and the citizen in order that mediation and mediative approaches will be further embedded in delivery within the sector

Mediation Development: developing the practice of mediation and associated disciplines

International Programme: contributing to the development of indigenous mediative activity in identified areas outside of Northern Ireland

Organisational Development: maintaining Mediation Northern Ireland as a relevant and effective social enterprise.
