Aims and Objectives

Contemporary Christianity 'works to apply Biblical principles and perspectives to the situation in NI'. In particular it seeks to 'address evangelical Christians in order to facilitate a continuing process of engagement with God's Word and the hurts facing our divided community'. Contemporary Christianity's goal is to promote reflection and debate and to 'encourage change in values and attitudes which will lead to evangelicals being active as makers of peace and agents of healing'.

Projects and Activities

The Centre is involved in a range of programmes including:

Discussions, lectures, conferences and workshops;
Materials on peace building and reconciliation, which have been developed by ECONI and CCCI

These activities are designed to resource and empower Christians and others to develop a biblical response; raise awareness of the issues to be considered in a divided society; facilitate research in biblical and theological perspectives and engage constructively in the search for peace and healing.
