Aims and Objectives

The central aim of INCORE is to be a key global centre for effective research and associated policy and programme developments in the field of ethno-political conflict.

INCORE aims to integrate research, training, policy and programme development in the field of ethno-political conflict. It works in conjunction with international bodies to develop a systematic approach to issues of conflict management and resolution and places a strong emphasis on comparative analysis and international collaborations on programme developments.

Projects and Activities

INCORE's present programmes are concerned with the successful management of pluralism and the transition from the ending of violence towards a fair and stable settlement of conflicts. It is also addressing the issue of impact and implementation of research within a policy and practice context, and issues of evaluation methodology in conflict intervention as well as conducting a research project on the usefulness of mediation in resolving conflicts. INCORE also conducts seminars, conferences and training opportunities in conflict management with diplomats, policy makers, academics and practitioners.

In addition INCORE provides information through the Internet on conflicts worldwide through the CDS (Conflict Data Service).
