Aims and Objectives

To initiate projects in the community which reflect the synergy of community and personal development;
To provide forums for discussion and to focus on action arising from these discussions;
To organise training courses, conferences and seminars on issues of public concern and interest;
To facilitate the processes of healing within and between people so that we may move forwards as whole, interdependent individuals;
To provide support to and encourage co-operation with and between individuals, groups, voluntary and statutory agencies whenever it is appropriate;
To publish books, magazines, pamphlets and brochures that encourage broad community participation in decision-making;
To encourage the development of innovative planning for the future based on the needs of people of the North-West and campaign to have the appropriate resources so that such plans can be put into effect;
To encourage individual and civic transformation through partnership, innovation, and the development of a new enabling vision for the North-West;
To emphasise the importance of culture, history and heritage of the North-West in informing the development of new approaches to cross-community relations work.

Projects and Activities

The Trust's activities can be summarised under four headings: Initiatives, Support, Partnership and Community Education and Training. These activities have been directed towards groups and individuals in the following areas: community development, empowerment, community relations, personal development, community arts and environmental issues.
