Projects and Activities

Projects and Activities: From our base in the former Presbyterian Church buildings on the lower Antrim Road we run a variety of programmes including a Preschool Playgroup and Afterschool Club, Disability Project, Young Carers and Youth Project (involving young men from lower Shankill and New Lodge).

In addition we provide a ‘Shared Space’ currently utilized by 18 different autonomous groups meeting a variety of needs and functions – inc.  Irish language Nursery, Alcoholics Anonymous, Pathways (Alternative Education initiative) and Senior Citizens Social.

The Complex is also the venue for a growing number of Arts and Culture related events  (drama etc) in preparation for the redevelopment of the former church building as designated Centre for Culture, Arts and Heritage.

The Trust’s Director is involved with various groups across the city  inc Churches’ Community Work Alliance, NI Community Faiths Forum (Chair of both); Groundwork NI, Charter NI, Lower Shankill Regeneration Board, making important contributions to the creation of a shared and just society.
