Theme 1.2: Acknowledging and dealing with the past

The Consortium of Pobal/Community Relations Council is managing a global grant of €50m under Theme 1.2 of the PEACE Programme 2007-2013.  'Acknowledging and dealing with the past’ in Ireland will require courage, sensitivity and determination. Violence has left a terrible legacy, both in the lives of people and families and in the memories of communities and traditions. In seeking to reach the goals of peace and reconciliation, opportunities to address aspects of the legacy will play a central role. Through PEACE III, the European Union has provided a further opportunity to tackle these issues. The Consortium will manage this theme not just in the capacity of a funding body but also as a developmental agency.

To apply for a grant the project activity must be within the eligible area as defined in Council Regulation (EC) No. 1088/2006, (Article 21). Applicants must ensure that the beneficiaries of any project activity must reside in Northern Ireland or the Southern Border Counties (Donegal, Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim, Louth and Sligo).

Funding under this theme is available through the 14 PEACE III Partnerships. Pease click here for links

Details of open/close dates for applications, types of actions which may be funded, period of funding and financial support is available below and in FAQ's.
