Victims Funding Welcomed

02 April 2010

The Community Relations Council has welcomed the announcement yesterday by OFMDFM that funding is to continue for work in support of victims and survivors of the Troubles.

Duncan Morrow, Chief Executive of the Community Relations Council, said:

‘The Community Relations Council welcomes the announcement of new funding arrangements for Victims and Survivors Groups by OFMDFM, to be administered by the Community Relations Council.  Victims and Survivors of violence paid a terrible and unjust price for violence over many decades, and this funding represents an important recognition of the profound needs and challenges which have to be met after violent bereavement and injury.   The Community Relations Council has been privileged to work with these groups and the people they represent over the past seven years, and welcomes this vote of confidence both in the work and our commitment to it.’
