RCN and STEP are holding a workshop to discuss the Strategic Investment Fund proposals. The workshop will take place in RCN offices in Cookstown on Friday 2 December from 10.00am to 12.30pm.
The Fund is worth £80m overall during the four year budget period. The high level aim of the Social Investment Fund is to reduce poverty, unemployment and physical deterioration through area based interventions of significant scale which will be delivered in partnership with communities. OFMDFM are currently carrying out a consultation on the Strategic Investment Fund and the closing date for responses is 23 December.
Our consultation workshop will outline how the Fund will operate, particularly its potential impact on rural communities, and give participants a chance to discuss the proposals. RCN aims to use the workshop to inform its response to the consultation and would encourage groups intending to make a response to come to our workshop.
