Make the most of your fundraising

08 November 2011

Considering the difficult times our sector is facing, NICVA is taking a lead in helping organisations to find effective solutions to the various challenges. Over the next few weeks we are offering practical support through valuable and affordable training on the theme of fundraising. A few places remain for the following courses:

Practical skills for completing application forms: 15 November, 10.00am-1.00pm.
Cost: £50 members/£70 non-members

Learn how grant-making organisations fund, what they fund and why they fund. An opportunity not be missed.

Managing to fundraise: 22 and 29 November, 10.00am-4.00pm.
Cost: £150 members/£220 non-members

This two day course is an opportunity to review your organisation's fundraising practice and develop new ideas for improving your fundraising income. The training includes making a pitch, understanding the donors' perspectives, the key elements of a fundraising strategy, fundraising from grant-makers (including voluntary, private and statutory sources), community fundraising (including personal, social/recreational and media techniques), trading goods and services, contracting and procurement, and investment fundraising.

The Apprentice fundraisers den: 6 December, 10.00am-1.00pm.
Cost: £50 members/£70 non-members

This innovative and exciting course takes the best of the BBC Apprentice and Dragon’s Den programmes and applies it in a fundraising context. The training looks at how to package and present a fundraising proposal – gives an opportunity to test your pitch and an interactive opportunity to learn how best to sell your cause to funders and members of the public. The training will also give a cheque to the winning apprentice on the course of £100.
