North Belfast Lantern Parade

New Lodge Arts are holding the North Belfast Lantern Parade & Magical Evening on Thursday 20th October 2011 in the Waterworks Park.
This is a fantastic event where young people and families from all over North Belfast
get together on the interface at Duncairn Gardens, and walk from Duncairn Gardens,
along North Queen Street and up the Limestone Road to the Waterworks Park.
Groups are currently holding lantern making sessions in the run up to the event. A
group of girls from the New Lodge are coming to Duncairn Community Centre in
Tigers Bay to work together on a group lantern which they will carry together in the
parade.
In the Waterworks Park there will be entertainment, magical creatures, food stalls
and a fireworks display. It is a fantastic family event for the whole community and
was hugely successful last year with a much larger than expected turn out!
