The Community Relations Council (CRC), is a sponsored body of Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister. CRC is seeking to appoint six members to the Council from 1 April 2007 and to create a pool of eligible candidates, from which to appoint further members from 1 November 2007.
Appointment of New Council Members
The Community Relations Council (CRC), is a sponsored body of Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister. CRC is seeking to appoint six members to the Council from 1 April 2007 and to create a pool of eligible candidates, from which to appoint further members from 1 November 2007.
CRC is the regional body supporting the implementation of key areas of A Shared Future which was published by OFMDFM in March 2005.
The Council needs to draw on a wide range of expertise in fulfilling its role. Candidates must be able to display expertise in community relations issues or significant achievement in areas that are relevant to the work of the Council, for example in the public, private or voluntary sectors, community development, churches , trades unions, from personal experience or as a carer. Together they will be responsible for governance and strategy and will be expected to help the Council forge a strong corporate identity.
Currently these posts are non-remunerated (under review). The Community Relations Council will meet all expenses incurred in performance of Council tasks or activities.
