YOUnite - Music From A Diverse City

28 February 2011

On the 5th February The Motion Project CD 'music from a diverse city' was launched. A community relations project gathering musicians from different cultures living in Belfast.

At the time Motion was a CD project but the impact of the CD release and the networks formed, resulted in a touring programme of workshops, interactive music experiences, performances and cultural education programmes involving to date over 80 musicians from 38 nationalities with an estimated 15,000 people since 2006 have had direct participation in a Motion Project activity. Today the Motion Project collective is still going from strength to strength using music as a tool for cultural learning and developing the Northern Ireland world music sector.
To celebrate in this special radio programme, Venus McDonnell talks with organiser and some participants of the original CD project
