Belfast Interface Communities: Building A Shared Future

Belfast Interface Project and the Community Relations Council would like to invite you to our joint conference: 'Belfast Interface Communities: Building A Shared Future', which will be held:

On:      Wednesday 8th November 2006

At:        9.30am – 4.30pm

In:        the Spires Conference Centre, Church House, Wellington Street, Belfast

(opposite Jury's Hotel).

The conference aims to determine policy actions which will assist Government to develop the process of translating the aspirations of A Shared Future Policy & Strategic Framework into meaningful actions which will be of real benefit, especially, to interface communities.  The format will include presentations from a range of speakers working within the interface community sector.  Each speaker will outline outline issues, approaches and solutions regarding a particular aspect of the conflict transformation work they are engaged in.  The main themes for discussion will be:

  • Managing Conflict
  • Transforming Conflict
  • Regenerating Interface Communities

Speakers inputs will be followed by opportunities for small group discussion to explore key issues facing interface communities and generate suggestions to be added to the Shared Future Triennial Action Plan which would help to support interface work more effectively in future.  In this way we hope that the conference will be:

  • a showcase for existing good practice across a range of kinds of work;
  • a stimulating opportunity for networking and information exchange;
  • an opportunity to influence future government policy in these areas of work.

I hope you or a representative from your organisation can attend - for further information and a booking form please contact:
