Committee members involved in groups in Annaclone, Drumballyroney, Katesbridge, Loughbrickland, Ballela, Moneyslane, Rathfriland and surrounding areas are being invited to a Cross-Community Networking Event in the Anglers Rest, Katesbridge, at 6.30pm on Tuesday 22nd March 2011.
The purpose of the event is to:
To meet volunteer committee members involved in similar activities in different parishes
To understand the challenges/issues other groups are experiencing and share your own experiences
To find out what other groups are doing that works – and what doesn’t!
To start building cross-community links that will facilitate us all to be more supportive of each other’s events/activities
The evening will start at 6.30 with hot food being served. Julianna Sloan, who specialises in advising organisations how to network, will facilitate the evening and run a number of networking games. The evening is supposed to be fun, interactive and relaxing and should finish by 9pm (although you are welcome to linger for a drink!).
Some types of groups already committed to this event include Parent & Toddler, Youth, Young At Heart, Historical, Sports, Social, Bowling and Rural Regeneration.
The event is being organised by Annaclone Community Engagement Group and funded by The Place Initiative. If you are able to attend please let me know on Geraldine.fusciardi@btopenworld.com by March 15th with your contact details and committee role.
