"Unity and Plurality in Europe" Mostar, Bosnia and HerzegovinaJuly 31st – August 2nd 2011
In cooperation with various organizations, both international and from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the International Forum Bosnia will organize the Sixth International Conference “Unity and Plurality in Europe” from July 31st until August 2nd, 2011.
After the successful organization of five international conferences (2006-2010), and after assessment of the results, it has been concluded that the entire endeavour should be built with the end goal of institutionalizing the Conference as a recurring forum for interfaith and intercultural dialogue in the Balkans, the historical crossroads between East and West.
The conference will be organised around three panels 1) Religion, Identity, and Society, 2) the Role of the University in the New Europe, 3) the Conditions of Coexistence. Each panel will involve a number of individual presentations on appropriate themes, followed by general discussion. The part of the program that will be open to public as well are three public lectures on related themes by internationally recognised experts.
Provision is made for up to 50 participants in the panel discussions. They will be accommodated in the Hotel Bristol in Mostar as in previous years, which is also the venue of the conference.
By the end of November 2010, the organizers will present the integral programme of the conference, as well as the procedure for application.
Through this letter, we inform our friends and the public, at home and abroad of our decision to organize this event. We invite all interested parties to inform us about their will to contribute to the final shaping of the integrated programme, either as co-organizers or participants.
With kind regards,
