County Louth Peace & Reconciliation Partnership is pleased to invite you to Building
a Shared Future, a two-day conference at Highlanes Gallery, Laurence St, Drogheda,
Co Louth on Tuesday-Wednesday, October 12-13, 2010.
The conference will focus on the opportunities for communities in the border region to benefit more fully from the peace dividend while fostering greater crosscommunity cooperation and understanding. Those participating include conference chair Mark Little, founder, Storyful.com and former RTÉ journalist and presenter; David McWilliams, economist and commentator; Duncan Morrow, chief executive, Community Relations Council; Susan McKay, author and Director, National Women's Council of Ireland; Alan Hill, cultural tourism specialist; Pat Colgan, Chief Executive, Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB); Cllr Paul Bell, Mayor of Drogheda; Cllr Anthony Donohoe, Chairman, Louth County Development Board; Conn Murray, Louth County Manager and Chairman, County Louth Peace & Reconciliation Partnership and Dr Maurice Hayes, former chairman, The Ireland Funds in Ireland and previous Northern Ireland Ombudsman and member of the Independent Commission on Policing in Northern Ireland. A full delegate programme is also planned, including conference dinner on October 12 and a guided visit to the historic Battle of the Boyne site at Oldbridge, Drogheda on October 13. The conference which has no delegate fee is made possible with support from the EU's Programme for Peace & Reconciliation in Northern Ireland and the border region of Ireland (PEACE III), under the European Regional Development Fund.
