The annual United Nations International Day of Peace is being held on the 21st September this year. To mark this important day, Springboard will launch its inaugural Inspiration Awards, which will be hosted by Right Hon, the Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Pat Convery.

This year will see Former Featherweight Champion Barry McGuigan receive The Celebrity Inspiration Award to commemorate his sporting achievements.
This event is one of a series of events that Springboard is organising to raise awareness of UN Peace Day. Other events leading up to the Day include the launch of its collection of Peace Day postcards, Peace Day information DVD, an inter community children's Sports Day; intergenerational environmental Peace Garden and a public service project.
