As you know, the Community Foundation is concerned about the proposed cuts to public expenditure and recognises that some communities will suffer much more than others. There is concern that the work being done by local community groups to provide projects and services to meet local needs will be badly affected by the cuts.
However, as the economic climate is a reality, there is an opportunity for community groups to think now to ensure local priorities are raised/safeguarded rather than have decisions taken without their input.
In order to make a strong case to Assembly Members and Departments, the Community Foundation needs to hear views about what it is essential to retain and work with the sector to make this case to Government.
The survey is being widely circulated but we need completed returns no later than midday on Monday September 6th please. The tight timetable is to make sure that the Community Foundation is able to collate the findings and agree next steps in advance of the October budget.
