Newtownabbey Community Relations Forum

16 June 2010

The Newtownabbey Community Relations Forum will be holding a Day of Private Reflection on Monday 21st of June at The Barron Hall, Antrim Road, Glengormley from 2.30pm to 6.30pm.

This is a day to acknowledge the deep hurt and pain caused by the conflict in and about Northern Ireland, to reflect on our own attitudes, on what more we might have done or might still do, and to make a personal commitment that such loss should never be allowed to happen again.

Please come and join us for a cup of tea and a chance to think or talk about the past and the rights or wrongs that happened.

The 21st of June has been chosen as the date of remembering because it marks the summer solstice and the longest day of the year. The hours of light and dark could be seen as a symbol of the hope and pain in our society. This day’s significance is related to a naturally occurring event and nature makes no distinction between races, creeds or political perspectives.

So, please join us on Monday at anytime between 2.30pm and 6.30pm, drop in for 5 mins or stay a while, you will be most welcome.
