Spirit of Enniskillen Trust learning programmes provide opportunities for young people to develop their dialogue and leadership potential through working alongside others from differing backgrounds both at home and abroad.
The work of the Spirit of Enniskillen Trust was inspired following the 1987 Enniskillen bombing tragedy, with the aim of building increased understanding and cooperation between young people from all social and cultural traditions.
Each year the Explore programme supports 40 young individuals , aged 16-19, to broaden their experience by travelling overseas and meeting others who are also dealing with difference and community conflict. As well as having time for enjoyment and leisure, participants learn from discussing issues they see as important to their own lives. In doing this they also develop the skills and awareness to lead similar learning for others. The contribution of young people from all backgrounds is therefore greatly valued.
