The Community Relations Council (CRC) is seeking to appoint seven members to the Council from 1 September 2009. CRC is a sponsored body of Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister and is committed to leading change to end sectarianism and racism and to a shared and better future for all.

The Community Relations Council (CRC) is seeking to appoint seven members to the Council from 1 September 2009. CRC is a sponsored body of Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister and is committed to leading change to end sectarianism and racism and to a shared and better future for all.
The Council seeks to be broadly reflective of society in Northern Ireland and welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from people of a minority ethnic background. The Council also seeks to appoint people with a broad range of skills including financial literacy and a knowledge of the legal framework governing public bodies.
Candidates must be able to:
- display knowledge of inter-community relations and/or intercultural issues.
- be responsible for corporate governance
- demonstrate good judgement and a capacity for creative thinking
- contribute to strategic thinking and planning
Significant achievement in areas that are relevant to the work of the Council will be taken into account. This may be gained:
- through professional experience in the public, private or voluntary sectors
- in voluntary work, community development in faith communities or trades unions
- as a result of political activity
- from personal experience or as a carer
will be taken into account.
Currently these posts are voluntary. Remuneration is currently under review. The Community Relations Council will meet all expenses incurred in performance of Council tasks or activities.
