What Made Now in Northern provides and introduction to the society of Northern Ireland for people living and working there in the 21st century.

It covers Northern Ireland's history from early times, through the partition of Ireland and the Troubles of the 20th century, to the contemporary community and the issues of establishing peace in an increasingly diverse society.

The book is accompanied by a DVD in which many of the contributers add a personal perspective to their written papers and expand upon them in greater depth and detail.
