Measure 1.2 – Acknowledging and Dealing with the Past (Strand 2 – Support for Participation)
The Community Relations Council and Border Action (The Consortium) have been appointed by the Special EU Programmes Body as a joint delivery mechanism of Priority 1.2 of the Peace III Programme.
The Priority will be delivered via a three strand approach which will focus on the following areas: Strand 1: Addressing the Past in Public Memory; Strand 2: Support for Participation; Strand 3: Securing the Future.
STRAND 2: SUPPORT FOR PARTICIPATION
The Consortium wishes to invite applications under Strand 2 of the Priority from organisations interested in developing and delivering peace-building and reconciliation projects which “seek to address the barriers to participation in economic and social networks which victims and survivors face” [headline Priority Aim] and “support innovative actions that will “address the suffering of victims and survivors of the conflict (as an essential element of reconciliation)” [Strand 2 Objective].
Indicative Actions for this Strand may include the following:
· Initiatives to provide high quality advice and counselling services for those most directly affected by the legacy of the conflict including support for those who work with the victims and survivors of the conflict.
· Actions to support high quality befriending and networking services to individuals, families and groups directly affected by the legacy of the conflict.
· Actions to provide respite services for individuals, families and groups affected by the legacy of the conflict.
· Actions to support those caring for victims and survivors of violence.
· Innovative initiatives to promote full reintegration of young people affected through family or community relationships affected by the conflict.
· Actions to increase access to practical skills, training and education designed to enhance economic reintegration of victims and survivors.
· Training for counsellors, trainers and other personnel on the needs of those directly affected by the legacy of the conflict, including the development of special skills required.
· Support of organisations responsible for the needs of the target groups including those working on a North/South and East/West basis.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A ROLLING GRANTS PROGRAMME. THE PROGRAMME WILL BE CLOSED TO FURTHER APPLICATIONS AT A LATER DATE.

Applications will be processed on a rolling basis. Early application submission is encouraged. The programme will be closed to further applications at a later date and will depend on interest received.
All applicants should note that given the limited budget available, the Consortium may not be able to fund all or part of applications received.
