My Day (working title)
The Community Relations Council wishes to commission a series of short films (4-5 minutes duration) shot on digital video format (DigiBeta, DV Cam) focussing on the daily life of a variety of young people, aged between 12 and 16, from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds, who are now living in Northern Ireland. Each film will cover similar interests and events in each person’s life, overall detailing both similarities and differences. The series should consist of at least 10 films, and should represent a spread of locations and cultural and linguistic diversity as currently relevant in Northern Ireland.
The daily events to be included in each film, and the list of groups from whom the young people should be selected, will be subject to agreement between the commissioned company and the Community Relations Council.
The series will be made accessible to schools, through their C2K online learning environment, and may subsequently be available as a DVD or a broadcast. The films should be complete and presented to CRC by 31st July 2008.
The closing time and date for receiving applications at the offices of the Community Relations Council, 6 Murray Street, Belfast BT 1 6DN, is 5pm on 31st October 2007
Shortlisted companies will be asked to make a presentation based on the proposal in their application at the Community Relations Council during the last two weeks of November 2007.
