Community Relations Council Consultation on outcome of Section 75 equality screening and draft Disability Action Plan

As a designated public authority under Section 75 and Schedule 9 of the NI Act 1998, The Community Relations Council produced an Equality Scheme in 2001. In this Scheme the Council made a commitment to meet all its statutory obligations to promote equality of opportunity and good relations.

This included the screening of all adopted and new policies of the Council. In line with its statutory duties, the Council has undertaken screening of the following policy areas:

Grant Procedures

Strategic Plan 2007-10.

Financial Management & Procurement.

Complaints

Staff Management

Access & Communications

Recruitment & Selection.

As a result of the screening exercise, the following policy areas will be equality impact assessed, beginning on the dates as shown:

Grant Procedures – September 2007.

Strategic Plan 2007-10 – February 2008.

The Community Relations Council is keen to hear your views on the outcome of the screening of these policy areas and would welcome contact with those who have an interest in the full equality impact assessments of the Strategic Plan 2007-10 and Grant Procedures.

Disability Action Plan

At this time the Community Relations Council is also consulting on its Draft Disability Action Plan. The Plan is available from the Council on request and can be made available in other languages or formats.  The Plan is also available by clicking the following link Draft Disability Action Plan The Council welcomes any comments on this plan in line with the consultation procedures outlined above.
