The needs of children, adults, families, groups and communities affected by 'The Troubles' will be discussed highlighting examples of good practice for lay and professional helpers alike. Speakers include Peter McBride, who will examine the impact of The Troubles on helping practitioners; Arlene Healey of the Family Trauma Centre; and Michaela Mackin of the Community Relations Council, exploring Befriending Schemes and the needs of the Carers of Victims:
Delegates will also have the opportunity to attend two workshops. Choices include healing young people through storytelling; Future directions; international examples of conflict; good practice examples from Northern Ireland and internationally.
'Healers of The Past?' will be of interest to everyone offering care and support in a statutory, voluntary or community setting.
