The Police Service operate an online form where you can inform us about any incident which is perceived to have been committed against another person because of their race, religion, political opinion, disability or sexual orientation. These incidents are commonly referred to as Hate Crime.
UNITE AGAINST HATE is a multi-agency campaign initiated by the Office of the First and Deputy First Minister, Equality Commission, Community Relations Council, Northern Ireland Office Community Safety Unit and Police Service of Northern Ireland.
Hate crime is violent, wrong and will not be tolerated. There is no room in Northern Ireland for this. The overwhelming majority of people, who utterly condemn acts of hate crime, have a substantial stake and a powerful role in eliminating the behaviour of the tiny minority who carry them out.
The campaign will promote leadership, optimism and hope and offer a practical channel to encourage, empower and support people to express their opposition to hate crime. We all want:
“A society which is at ease with itself and where everyone shares in and enjoys the benefits of the unprecedented opportunities that this new era offers.”
The Irish Peace Centres initiative aims to extend and embed reconciliation within and between communities by creating a strategic consortium to deliver a wide range of activities. The project is being delivered by a consortium of peace-building organisations who seek to cultivate and sustain positive relationships at a local level across the region and across traditional sectarian and new social divides.
Our Future Together is an initiative of the Northern Ireland Foundation, to encourage:
New political leadership
Action in local communities
Voices of a new generation
A cohesive Northern Ireland society
The website is a forum for supporters to discuss ways of achieving a shared and better future for all.
