Minutes of the Policy Development Committee

17th June 2003

Present: Ward Erwin (Chair for this meeting), Edwin Graham, Ann Anderson Porter, Vivienne Pollock, Neil Jarman, Declan O'Loan, Nelson McCausland, Niall Fitzduff, Damian McKevitt (CRU).

In attendance: Dympna McGlade, Philip O'Keeffe, Patricia O'Neill, Linda Norney, Jessica Ellis.

Apologies: Robin Wilson, Damien McElroy, Eamonn Deane, Roise NiBhaoill.

Introductions took place and Ward gave a brief overview of the PD Programme and Committee.

Minutes of the last meeting

Dympna updated the Committee as to the consultation process so far – Regional, Voluntary & Community and Private sector events.

Arts Council have not yet been in touch regarding flute bands EQIA.

Liam Burn, PSNI will be invited to attend a Committee meeting after the summer.

CRC draft response to A Shared Future

The Committee spent over an hour discussing the draft response and made a number of recommendations. The draft response will be discussed by Council at the next meeting on the26th June, the suggestions from both Council and the PD Committee will shape the final response.

CRC draft response the Race Equality Strategy

The Committee discussed the response and made recommendations. The draft response will also be discussed at Council meeting on the 26th June.

Business in the Community workplace awards

Dympna explained that CRC is sponsoring the best practice in good relations in the voluntary and community sector.  Dympna will make some changes to the criteria to make it user friendly for the sector.
