Measure 1.2 – Acknowledging and Dealing with the PastSTRAND 1: Addressing Legacy and Truth in Public Memory
The Consortium wishes to invite Expressions of Interest under Strand 1 of the Priority from organizations or consortia interested in developing and delivering peacebuilding and reconciliation projects which seek to implement actions that explore the legacy and memory of the conflict through truth recovery, documentation, story telling and the recording of complex history and experience.
The Expression of Interest Form will enable the Consortium to identify potential projects and provide additional support to potential applicants prior to the commencement of a tendering process. It is anticipated that a limited number of large scale projects will be supported through this Strand. The Consortium will seek fuller project proposals later in the year. .
Indicative Actions for this Strand include:
Television/Broadcasting: The development of a television/radio series examining the human, community and political legacy of violence and conflict in Ireland and the challenge of reconciliation.
Interactive web-based resources: To support or augment open access projects encouraging engagement, reflection and information gathering.
Archiving: To support the development of a common public archive of matters relating to the violent past and may include a number of related projects which record the experience of specific localities or particular traditions.
Exhibitions: To support a significant exhibition (s) within the National and Regional Museums structures detailing the impact and experience of conflict from the perspective of many different strands of experience.
Educational Materials: The development of appropriate educational materialswhich acknowledge and deal with the past aimed at different age groups. This could include support for training and support for teachers, youth workers orcommunity workers.

The identification of a project does not guarantee future funding will be approved for the project.
