Working in partnership with the SEUPB, CRC, NICEM, NICRAS, Belfast City Council and the PSNI, World United has established itself as a very successful intercultural football team based in Belfast. Women’s Football/Soccer is the fastest growing sport in the world and we want to create a Women’s World United Team to act as a vehicle to help promote friendship and respect for diversity, encouraging participation in Football in a fun and safe environment.

This issue of CRC NEWS is published to capture some of the
highlights of the recent Community Relations Week which took
place at the end of April. Community Relations Week was an
opportunity to illustrate some of the many initiatives taking place
throughout the year both at the level of voluntary and community
groups and among statutory bodies and business. We thank all
those who took part or who helped organise events, almost 150
in all. By raising awareness of these the Community Relations
Council hopes that others will have been encouraged to take
their own initiatives in the future.

The Government has today invited the people of Northern Ireland to formally respond to the recommendations in the final report of the Consultative Group on the Past.
Co-Chaired by Lord Eames and Denis Bradley, the group published their report on dealing with the past at the end of January and today, Secretary of State Shaun Woodward told Parliament that the time is right for the people of Northern Ireland to have their say.
The consultation will run until October 2, 2009.
