Pat McKay, author of ‘A Dictionary of Ulster Place-Names’ will examine the linguistic influence of Irish, Norse, Ulster-Scots and English on the place-names of Bangor and Ards.

This event is a radio session workshop exploring what attracts people to North Down and what positive aspects of life in Northern Ireland we are all proud to share with each other.   Leading up to a radio session, pupils will prepare poems, songs and stories.  During the radio workshop pupils will record and produce their own radio show including a discussion with new black ethnic minority peoples from other countries.
